Paul Shellooe
I double-majored in Computer Science and Creative Writing at the University of Colorado at Boulder. After interning at a startup company for my last year at CU, I was hired on, discovered UX design and have been designing ever since.
I balance my day job with music. I have been playing guitar in bands for most of my life. Music and technology magically merged along the way and now they are intertwined. From poster and album art to audio and video production, I’ve done it all and really enjoy the creativity mixed with the tech.
My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to find the human factor. There are certain things that computers/technology will never do better than humans and, to me, that is the best part. Whether designing a distinctly human interaction into software that might not be the most efficient way, but instead the most delightful, to leaving mistakes and “grease” in recordings because they just sound good, I’m all about the human imperfections.
The human factor is also what I enjoy most about software development and music. I really enjoy collaborating and making art with other human beings. Creativity is amplified when great minds think alike. Get in touch—I would love to hear about what you’re working on.
